As a patient, you never have to make contact with the VeinViewer, and the near-infrared light is absolutely safe:
It is completely non-invasive.
There is no risk of tissue damage.

The VeinViewer can see vasculature up to approximately 8-10mm, about a 1/4 - 1/3 inch, below the surface of the skin. |

The VeinViewer is easy to use and requires no additional preparation. All your clinician has to do is turn it on and position the head unit approximately 23 inches over the assessment area. |
